  Just amazing to find so goooood food at end of world - all organic meat (even choice of organic beer), no sugar, no salt in food. You could expect it from london £50 place, but £10-15 at this island??? And owner ao entertainig!

  just a note to join in the general praise for this outstanding little auberge. My profession takes me all over Europe and my habitude is to dine well each night within my budget as comfort for being away from my family. This is quite difficult in Britain, moreso in Ireland and Scotland, and I have paid heavily in grand houses for factory processed "gormet meals." I read about this remote "russian tavern" in the In-Flight magazine of KLM, and tracked in down on the computer.
  My experience is I would put it in the top hanful of affordable restaurants in this region. Live fish is cooked a demande. The Boeuf Strogonov is of Michelin Star quality.The price of a room to stay includes a breakfast I have never experienced before in quality and variety, including tartelette quiche with local wild fungi, salads, stuffed tomatoes, pepper and smoked ham rouliade, charcuterie, croissants and bread straight from the oven (as good as in Paris), fresh fruit salad, honey and home-yoghurt! All inclusive!
  The ambiance is totally without pretentions, the tables and floor are bare wood, the view is directly ot to sea across the yacht bay,. the barrels of beer are on the bar and every converses . I met the top chef cf one of the acclaimed restaurants in Glasgow who told me this was HIS real find of somewhere to eat out! Je reviens!
